social media anxiety?

Let me start by saying this post won’t fix your anxiety about social media. However, I am here to point out a few tools that can help you manage some of the things ‘social media’. It’s hard, I know. To do all the things…

FIRST THE RANT. Whether you are an artist or a designer, if you landed here it’s because you are a small business owner and you are busy. You have so much on your plate. And to do it all, plus take care of your social media it’s just… too much! Who hasn’t constantly heard that you need to post one or two posts to Instagram daily, plus 4 to 5 stories for engagement, oh, and don’t forget that Instagram is not about photos anymore you need to make reels! But also, Pinterest. Pinterest is really good because it works as a search engine like Google and your post won’t get buried… but do you reuse your posts to Facebook?, and you don’t have a TikTok account yet, not sure what you are waiting for…

I don’t know about you but I get headaches just thinking about it. Because to be honest marketing it’s only 1 of the other 100 things I need to take care of. I am business owner, artist, and a mom of two lovely girls, which by the way, often are home sick or in some sort break/holiday from school. So, I cook, clean, do laundry, play board games, actively participate in dance parties, work as a tickle monsters, and so much more…

But that's only covering "the mom" part of my job. As an artist, I have to find time to practice my skills while learning new things and explore new mediums, I need to learn to use multiple programs to digitize my art, make seamless repeat, upload files, pitch to clients, create a portfolio, keep up with the blog, oh and a website is a must WITH an email list… and please, don't create a website and think that you are done, keep working at it… have we talked about social media?

So, if you are like me: 1. Don't have the money to hire a magic genie, 2. Don't love social media, 3. The apps keep crashing on you after you are almost done creating a 30 second reel that took you 3 hours to put together… I have some tips. Not about the reels. Not yet, anyway! ;)

HELP IS ON THE WAY. I have recently found a couple of apps that have made my life easier. Ready?

1.- Canva

What is it? Canva is graphic design platform, used to create social media graphics, presentations, posters, documents and other visual content. The app includes templates for users to use.

How does it help? It has saved so much time and it has helped me to create beautiful customized post (mostly for Pinterest). It’s wonderful because they offer a free subscription. It can help you create posts specifically for each platform, so you don’t have to worry about the right size to drive the most attention to your post!

2.- Tailwind

What is it? It is a program that will also help you create templates for social media BUT most importantly it allows you to schedule some of your posts. It also offers a free subscription (with limited posting ability but if you are starting out it’s more than enough).

How does it help? It will save you time since you can schedule a bunch of post all together and you have the ability to post to Instagram, Facebook and Pinterest all at once!

That’s it for today because I know that even “help” can be overwhelming at times. And having to check too many sites takes time and it’s stressful. But please, if you want to learn more sign up for the newsletter and let’s connect. I will be happy to answer any questions you might have!

I will share some more tips on how to best organize your time soon!

Thanks for stopping by and reading,

Ana
